In Luke 8:4-8, we read about the Parable of the Sower. In James Burton Coffman’s commentary on these verses he wrote the following: “The metaphor of this parable is that of a farmer sowing grain in the old fashioned manner, striding through the plowed field, scattering seeds by handfuls taken from a bag carried over his shoulder, and spreading them in an arc before him as he walked.” At that moment the farmer has no way of knowing which seed or seeds will take root, grow, and produce a harvest. The 8,000 World Bible School teachers are not unlike this seed sower as they reach out to individuals. We have a very unique opportunity to reach large numbers of people.

During the past few years, the World Bible School has made it very easy to reach and teach vast numbers across the world. The internet has opened opportunities that previously did not exist. The amount of time that it takes for communication between teacher and student is now measured in hours or even minutes.
This quotation was recently found at the WBS website: “In the past 30 days, 5,729 people logged in to this site (World Bible School) to study the Bible. They came from 144 countries. Every thirty seconds another person starts a Bible study online. ” Interested students from all over the world including the United States are responding to internet ads to study the Bible. Access to computers and smart phones has made it possible for almost anyone to learn about God’s plan of salvation.
